Happy Fourth!

This summer is very hot. It has been 90 degrees or more every day. It worries me that it has been so hot so early in the season this year. Usually it is cool in the afternoons and evenings until we get into the “dog days” of August. But this year it has not been getting cool and it has been hot for a long time for early summer weather. I hope that it cools off soon and doesn’t get even worse by the time August rolls around.
My friends in Mexico wrote in their blog that grocery shopping in Mexico is very different than here in the U. S. Most of the food is very different, especially the fresh produce. She posted photos of some of the fruit that they have tried and they have liked all of it!
One notable difference in the meat department is the large variety of hot dogs. There are over a hundred different brands. The hot dogs take an entire meat case display on their own. I would take her advice on this, too. She says, do not buy the cheapest hot dogs in the store. I trust her on that and am not even going to ask her why!

Thank you to all the servicemen and servicewomen who are fighting to protect us. Thank you also to all those who have fallen in the line of duty and to their families.
